Before each use:

• attach the arches exactly as instructed;
• confirm that all fastenings are secure;
• inspect seams, hook-and-loop attachments and hanging elements;
• place the mat directly on a stable floor;
• keep it away from stairs, heaters and trailing cables;
• stop using the arches when the instructions require removal;
• do not allow older children to pull, climb or hang from them.

The arches are activity structures, not carrying handles. Never move the mat while the baby is on it.

Wooden Baby Gyms

For safe use:

• assemble the frame according to the instructions;
• verify that all joints are secure;
• place it on a flat, stable surface;
• use only compatible toys and attachment methods;

Do not place a freestanding baby gym inside a cot or other sleep space.

Rattles, Grasping Toys and Teethers

Rattles and early grasping toys should be light enough for the intended child and free from accessible small parts, sharp edges, long cords or damaged surfaces.

Before every use:

• inspect the complete toy;
• confirm that internal components cannot escape;

Follow the approved attachment method and ensure that:

Play mats should be used on a clean, dry, level floor. Clear the surrounding area of furniture edges, electrical cables, heaters, unstable objects and items that could be pulled down.

A foam or padded mat may improve comfort and reduce contact with a cold or hard floor, but it does not make falls harmless. It should not be described as guaranteeing protection from injury.

Inspect puzzle mats regularly for:

• separated edge pieces;
• teeth marks;
• peeling coatings;
• torn surfaces;
• gaps between tiles;
• liquid trapped underneath;
• mould or persistent odour;
• loss of grip against the floor.

Baby Nests and Braided Bumpers

The collection currently includes products titled “Baby Nest & Play Mat With Crib Bumper Braid.” Their descriptions contain references to naps, sleeping nests, crib use and a braid that allegedly prevents rolling.

These claims require urgent correction.

Baby nests, sleep pods and padded bumpers should not be marketed as safe sleep spaces. NHS safer-sleep guidance advises against sleeping pods and nests because their raised or cushioned areas can contribute to overheating or obstruction; the safest sleep space is a separate cot or Moses basket with a firm, flat mattress and no soft objects or cot bumpers. Indoor Baby Swings

Use foam modules:

• only within the manufacturer’s stated age range;
• on a non-slip, level floor;
• in approved configurations;
• away from stairs, windows and hard furniture;
• without stacking them higher than recommended;
• without mixing them with unsuitable furniture;
• under active adult supervision;
• with sufficient clear space around the play area.

Do not describe a product as “Montessori” merely because it supports independent or movement-based play. “Montessori-inspired” is the more accurate wording unless the design has a specific documented relationship to Montessori practice.

Materials and Certifications

GOTS, OEKO-TEX, FSC and CE communicate different things:

• GOTS relates to certified organic textile processing and content within its documented scope;
• OEKO-TEX Standard 100 concerns testing for specified harmful substances;
• FSC concerns responsible forest-management and chain-of-custody systems;
• CE marking is a regulatory conformity mark required for product categories covered by applicable EU harmonisation legislation.

None of these automatically means “made in Europe,” “completely sustainable,” “chemical-free,” “hypoallergenic” or universally safe for every child.

Toy Safety and CE Marking

Products classified as toys may require CE marking and supporting conformity documentation under the applicable EU toy-safety framework. Play mats, nursery textiles, furniture-like products and hanging equipment may have different classifications.

Do not add “CE-certified” as a general collection claim. For each relevant product, keep documentation identifying:

• the manufacturer;
• the EU responsible economic operator;
• product identification or model number;
• official age grading;
• applicable legislation and standards;
• risk assessment;

“Adult supervision” means that a responsible adult remains close enough to observe and intervene. It does not mean occasionally checking from another room.

Before play:

1. Read the instructions.
2. Check the official age and ability requirements.
3. Assemble the product completely.
4. Inspect it for damage.
5. Clear the surrounding area.
6. Position the child safely.
7. Stay nearby throughout use.
8. Stop when the child becomes tired or distressed.

No activity product should be used to restrain, contain or occupy a baby while the caregiver sleeps.

Cleaning and Care

Care requirements vary between wood, textiles, foam and plastic.

General principles include:

• remove detachable components only as instructed;
• avoid soaking wooden parts;

A washable cover does not mean that the internal foam or complete product is machine washable.
