Dreamland Colourful Wooden Spinner Puzzle by Wooden Story

What happens when a frog grows wings, a forest creature borrows the body of a theatrical character, or a mysterious dragon suddenly gets an entirely different pair of legs?

With the Dreamland Colourful Wooden Spinner Puzzle by Wooden Story, there is no need to choose just one character.

Children can turn, rearrange and combine beautifully engraved wooden blocks to create familiar figures — or invent completely new creatures that exist only in their imagination.

Inspired by Commedia dell’arte, the Secret Garden and the Magic Forest, Dreamland brings together storytelling, visual discovery and hands-on puzzle play in one wonderfully unusual wooden toy.

Welcome to Dreamland

Three different worlds meet on one wooden base.

Each series of engraved blocks introduces characters and details inspired by theatre, gardens and enchanted forests.

Children can align the illustrations to reconstruct complete characters or deliberately mix the sections together.

A graceful figure can suddenly have animal legs.

A forest creature can acquire an unexpected body.

A frog can grow wings.

And a completely new character can appear simply because a child decided to turn one block in a different direction.

Why Children Love It

Dreamland feels different every time the blocks move.

One twist can transform an entire character.

Children can search for matching illustrations, deliberately create funny combinations or simply keep turning the pieces until something catches their imagination.

The colourful wooden toppers and intricate engraved drawings invite closer inspection, while the changing figures make it easy for play to move naturally into storytelling.

Why Parents Love It

The puzzle does not provide a single correct outcome.

Children can reconstruct the original characters, but they are equally free to ignore them and invent their own.

That makes Dreamland useful for several different styles of play:

• Visual matching
• Fine motor exploration
• Creative storytelling
• Character building
• Independent play
• Shared parent-and-child play
• Calm screen-free activity

The same toy can function as a puzzle one day and the starting point for an elaborate imaginary story the next.

Three Worlds to Explore

The engraved illustrations draw inspiration from three distinctive themes:

Commedia dell’arte — theatrical characters with expressive costumes and personalities.

Secret Garden — botanical details and mysterious natural forms.

Magic Forest — fantastical creatures and woodland-inspired imagery.

Together they give children a rich collection of visual elements to observe, combine and reinterpret.

Match the Characters

Children can begin by studying the engraved illustrations and identifying which sections belong together.

A head.

A body.

A pair of legs.

Turning the blocks to reconstruct a complete figure encourages careful observation and comparison.

Small details matter.

Lines need to connect.

Patterns continue from one cube to another.

The activity becomes a visual puzzle without requiring written instructions or electronic feedback.

Or Break Every Rule

Once the original figures have been discovered, Dreamland becomes much more interesting when the rules disappear.

Turn the middle block.

Swap the character beneath it.

Rotate another section.

Suddenly, a completely different creature appears.

There is no wrong combination.

The more unexpected it looks, the better the starting point for a new story.

From Puzzle to Storytelling

A strange new character naturally invites questions.

Who is it?

Where does it live?

What is its name?

Why does it have those wings?

Where is it going?

By combining illustrations in unusual ways, children can move from visual puzzle-solving into storytelling without needing a separate set of characters or story cards.

The toy creates the prompt.

The child creates everything that happens next.

Turn, Observe & Discover

Manipulating the individual wooden blocks encourages children to use precise hand movements while following the changing illustrations with their eyes.

They can rotate a piece slowly, compare details and decide whether the image looks right — or wonderfully wrong.

This simple turn-and-look action creates repeated opportunities for hand-eye coordination and fine motor play.

Details Worth Looking For

The engravings are much more than decorative outlines.

Faces, clothing, leaves, wings, paws, plants and other small illustrated elements encourage children to stop and look closely.

They can search for repeating motifs, describe what they notice or identify unusual combinations created by rotating the blocks.

That makes Dreamland particularly well suited to slower, observation-led play.

Creativity Without a Finished Answer

Some puzzles end when every piece reaches its correct position.

Dreamland can begin there.

Reconstructing the original figures is only one possibility.

Once that challenge is complete, the blocks can immediately be rearranged into something completely different.

The result is a toy where solving the puzzle does not end the play — it opens another direction.

Smooth Natural Wood

The puzzle is made using wood sourced from FSC-certified suppliers.

The coloured elements use natural, eco-friendly pigments, while the wooden surfaces are finished with beeswax and vegetable oils.

This treatment gives the blocks the smooth, tactile finish described by Wooden Story while allowing the natural wood grain to remain visible beneath the engraved illustrations.

Colour Used Thoughtfully

Most of the puzzle preserves the natural appearance of the wood so the detailed drawings remain the focus.

Colour appears selectively in the red, blue and green wooden toppers and base details, giving the toy a playful identity without covering the character of the timber.

The result feels imaginative and colourful while remaining recognisably Wooden Story.

A Puzzle for Independent Play

Children can sit with Dreamland and explore without needing a predefined sequence.

They may spend one play session trying to reconstruct every original figure.

Another may be entirely devoted to inventing strange creatures.

Later, the figures may become characters in an improvised story.

That freedom makes the toy particularly suitable for independent, child-led play.

Play Together & Invent a Character

Dreamland can also become a simple shared game.

One player turns the first section.

Another chooses the next.

A third finishes the character.

Then everyone decides:

What is its name?

Where does it come from?

What special ability does it have?

A physical puzzle quickly becomes a collaborative storytelling activity.

Compact Enough for the Play Shelf

The assembled product measures approximately 20.3 × 7.4 × 17 cm, making it substantial enough for hands-on play without requiring a large activity table.

Each engraved cube measures approximately 4 × 4 × 4 cm, giving children chunky individual pieces to manipulate as they explore different combinations.

Beautiful Presentation

Dreamland arrives in an illustrated recyclable cardboard box inspired by the same magical world as the puzzle itself.

The packaging measures approximately 22.5 × 8.3 × 19.7 cm, making the set particularly appealing as a distinctive birthday or Christmas gift.

Even before the box is opened, the illustrated presentation feels connected to the stories waiting inside.

Made in Poland

Dreamland is made in Poland by Wooden Story.

The toy reflects the brand's characteristic combination of natural wood, intricate illustration, traditional craftsmanship and open-ended play.

Instead of telling children exactly what to imagine, it provides carefully made elements and leaves the important part — the story — to them.

Here is an inspiring brand story for Wooden Story, adapted for an English-language online store:

Wooden Story: Toys Born in the Forest and Made for Generations

In a world full of plastic and fleeting trends, Wooden Story brings back the magic of genuine, timeless things. These aren't just children's toys—they are small works of art carrying the scent of nature and the warmth of human hands.

From the Heart of the Mountains

The story of Wooden Story begins in the picturesque Beskidy Mountains in Poland. There, surrounded by ancient forests, one family has turned their love for wood into a tradition passed down from generation to generation since 1969. For the brand's creators, wood isn't just a raw material—it's a living, breathing substance full of stories just waiting to be told through children's play.

Uncompromising Purity and Respect for Nature

The philosophy of Wooden Story is deeply rooted in environmental responsibility and children's health:

• Sustainable Origins: Only carefully selected wood from FSC-certified suppliers is used, ensuring the preservation of forests.

• Natural Processing: There is no room for toxic paints and varnishes in their production. Every toy is hand-polished and finished solely with natural beeswax and botanical oils.

• Safety and Sensory Experience: The natural finish makes the surfaces silky smooth to the touch. The toys are completely safe for the little ones to "taste" and possess that distinct, soothing aroma of real wood.

Toys with a Soul, Built to Last

The brand's motto is: "Toys that come from the forest, smell of wood, and in which you can still hear the sound of the wind."

Their minimalist design doesn't impose ready-made play scenarios but leaves room for what matters most—children's imagination. The wooden blocks, figures, and cars develop creativity and fine motor skills while connecting children with the natural world.

However, the most valuable quality of Wooden Story is their longevity. These are not toys for a single season. They are crafted to stand the test of time, gather memories, and one day be passed down from today's children to their own children.

The Mission of Wooden Story: To gift children pure, unadulterated joy, and parents the peace of mind that they are choosing the safest, most eco-friendly, and beautiful start for their family.
